Tomato 10 Mar, Dave McGinlay (Australia - temperate climate): I have an amazing Roma Tomato plant that is now in it;s third flowering & has produced over 200 tomatoes over the past 18 months(I just trim off the dead foliage) Lately some of the fruit has a very small round hole in them & when cut open reveals a heap of tiny eggs. Could this be some kind of wasp.? I am picking them a bit earlier now as the culprit can;t seem to put a hole in them if they are slightly unripe. Regards Dave McGinlay

Cape Gooseberry (also Golden Berry, Inca Berry ) 06 Mar, Arend Treurnicht (South Africa - Semi-arid climate): Dear Ruth Morgan, bought a biggish plant from a local nursery. All went well until some bugs invaded, grazed the leaves and even started laying eggs on the underside in the curled-up leaves. Since propagated many small from the seeds, as well as seeds from ones I bought in the local shop, washed over a tea-sieve, dried on a kitchen roll and then into a Zip-lock folded into the damp kitchen-roll, damp and leave in peace for a fortnight. Very promising and keeping eyes on the old mother-plant as well as all the new seedlings. Very promising but this year the heat is merciless. First drops are falling and we hope they will thrive.

Cucumber 06 Mar, roxanne chappell (Australia - temperate climate): I seem to have have the some problem as others. I have got plenty of apple cucumbers grown but the leaves seem to be dieing. A closer inspection of the leaves there are little black bugs but they dont seem to live long then die on the leaves and it looks like dirt has been thrown over the leaves

Rhubarb 22 Apr, (Australia - sub-tropical climate): As long as you've continued watering it, it should recover. We lost all our rhubarb stalks on young crowns in summer one year, but I can tell you that once the weather cooled, they happily tried again and now they're growing nicely.

Chilli peppers (also Hot peppers) 12 Apr, Cassie (Australia - cool/mountain climate): Mine too. It's usually because of too much water as chillies dont like to be coddled. Nothing you can do for the ones already on the plant.

Potato 05 Mar, Alan (Australia - temperate climate): We grow two crops a year, one through spring & the other through autumn storing them in the garage in a black 50lt container & lid we bought from Bunnings. Don't ever wash them before storage & always keep the lid on so they remain in the dark.

Cucumber 04 Mar, Linda Mitchell (Australia - temperate climate): Hi, My apple cucumbers grow great and have plenty of flowers and little tiny cucumbers. Then the leaves start going yellow and brown from the bottom of the vine and the whole plant dies. What is wrong with them?

Pumpkin 04 Mar, Toni (Australia - temperate climate): Phil Ware sub tropical small pumpkins forming then dropping off. I hand pollinated all new pumpkins. Only one grew large. For space reasons (small garden) I cut the pumpkin from the vine and kept a length of vine attached. When might cut up and cook soup etc?
